Production Readiness

Integrated design and production services allows Panacis to move new programs to production quickly and efficiently, while ensuring high yields and lower manufacturing costs.

Rarely does a complete set of design schematics represent the final step before mass production. Through the later design stages, and particularly during the prototyping phase, our New Product Introduction (NPI) team gets involved in order to ensure that critical design opportunities are not missed. During prototyping, designs are improved, and manufacturing and test methods are identified. Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT) are important philosophies that ensure that designs are reliable and cost-effective in production.

In our high-mix, low-volume manufacturing facility, we are able to oversee the introduction of products to the controlled environment of mass production. Panacis Manufacturing Engineering services and NPI processes reduce manufacturing costs, improve yields, and provide further opportunities for innovation capture.

Panacis has readied to manufacture a variety of products, from those that may be hand-built in low quantities to those that will be distributed in the hundreds-of-thousands for retail sale.

Production Engineering

Once system integration and functional testing is complete, the Panacis NPI team gains a strong understanding of the criteria that will dictate overall production quality and yield. During the NPI phase, Panacis manufacturing engineers review designs and develop test systems and methods that will be used to direct production quality control processes. This includes:

  • establishment of incoming inspection checklists,
  • identification of critical dimensions on mechanical components,
  • design of mechanical assembly tools and jigs,
  • development of test jigs for black box testing of electronics and firmware, and
  • assembly line testing and reporting.
