This allows us to conduct and oversee designs ranging from subsystems to whole products. Design is in our roots. Panacis provides design services that are integrated with the whole product lifecycle. We work closely with the manufacturing readiness team as designs and prototypes mature, in order to provide a smooth transition to production. Throughout the design process, Panacis designers take into account all manner of constraints, including those affecting cost and material budgets, regulatory requirements, end-user risk, manufacturability, and manufacturing cost.

Design Capture
Panacis uses the latest versions of state-of-the-art tools to develop and document its mechanical and electronics designs. By employing the best tools, we are able to be efficient at design capture, modeling, analysis, and collaboration.
Component and Material Selection
Components and materials – the building blocks of a design – require careful selection and qualification. Advanced technologies may add significant value, but may also introduce complications. Availability, cost, regulatory compliance, performance, and impacts on manufacturability affect the appropriateness of each element in a design. Panacis works closely with leading vendors and suppliers to select and employ the most suitable technologies in our customers’ products.
Prototyping and System Integration
A prototype represents an important milestone in the life of a product. Panacis develops prototypes for proof of concept and design validation, for market validation, and for manufacturing readiness. Panacis has a comprehensive network of fabrication partners that are able to turn around quick electronics and mechanical systems.
Regulatory Compliance and Certification
Most products are subject to a number regulatory constraints that must be considered throughout design and manufacturing. Panacis has a deep understanding that these requirements affect product development. We oversee the necessary testing and regulatory approval of product designs, and ensure that proper manufacturing practices are in place for their production. Our experience includes:
- global product safety approvals, including UL, CSA, CE and MET,
- FCC compliance, including emission and absorption,
- hazardous substance requirements, including RoHS, WEEE and REACH, and
- battery design, safety regulations, and transportation restrictions.
Invention
Innovation occurs in the translation of concept to design to prototype to production. Identifying and capturing this innovation adds value to the product and, in the cases of start-ups, the company’s valuation. Panacis has experience in generating and identifying novel ideas during the product development process. Our work often generates patents for our customers.
